Wir forschen für die Grundlagen der Medizin von morgen

Was hält uns gesund und was macht uns krank? Wie gelangt ein Medikament an den richtigen Wirkungsort im Körper? Und wie kann man umgekehrt Viren und Bakterien daran hindern in Zellen und Gewebe einzudringen? Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, untersuchen wir biochemische Abläufe in Zellen und Organen und studieren die molekularen Ursachen von Krankheiten. Auf der Basis dieser Erkenntnisse suchen unsere Wissenschaftler:innen gezielt nach Wirkstoffen oder entwickeln neuartige Diagnostika und Therapeutika um so die Grundlage für die Medizin von morgen zu schaffen.
