Svea was born and raised in Frankfurt (Oder). She started her study of Biology in Dresden and continued her studies in Berlin at the HU and FU since she wanted to focus on neurobiology/behavioural biology. After graduating she moved into the desert to Phoenix (Arizona) for a PhD programme at Arizona State University. Since 2009 she is a member of the electron microscopy facility at FMP. She contributes her knowledge in standard TEM and Immuno-EM techniques to projects with FMP colleagues and cooperations of the institute.
