Dr.
Zhe was born and raised in a small village near the Taihang Mountains in Jiyuan, China. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University in 2021, where he focused on asymmetric catalysis. Driven by a curiosity for new research environments, Zhe moved to Germany to pursue his PhD in the group of Prof. Armido Studer at the University of Münster. There, his work centered on the development and application of photo-initiated N-centered radicals. Now, eager to explore the interface of photochemistry and biology, he has joined the Hackenberger group. His current research focuses on developing novel methods for photocatalyzed bioconjugation and proximity labeling. Outside of the lab, he likes to stay active and enjoys his free time running, swimming, and hiking.
