Travel Grant

Every PhD student should attend at least one conference during the doctoral time. To support the attendance, the FMP Graduate School provides a travel grant of up to 700 €. The presentation of a poster or oral presentation is mandatory to receive this grant. Applications for travel grants can be submitted to Maria Jäpel (jaepel@fmp-berlin.de) or Katrin Wittig (wittig@fmp-berlin.de) and should include the name of the conference as well as an abstract of the poster or oral presentation. The application form can be found on the FMP intranet.

Other Courses

In addition, there is a cooperation agreement with the Humboldt Graduate School. All members of the FMP Graduate School can take advantage of the Humboldt Graduate School offers. The offered courses include

  • Career Development
  • Soft Skills (e.g. Time and Conflict management)
  • Communication & Presentation Skills
  • Good Scientific Practice
  • Computer courses (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc).

In addition, PhD students enrolled at one of the four Berlin universities (Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin) can take advantage of the courses offered by the Berlin University Alliance.
