Funding by Volkswagen Foundation

The Volkswagen Foundation has established a new funding initiative: Viral Zoonoses – Innovative Approaches in Drug Development. This initiative funds research on innovative therapeutics effective against viral pathogens that spread from animals to humans. Together with Priv.-Doz. Dr. Philipp Mergenthaler, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Dr. Marc Nazaré has been awarded funding for the project entitled “Discovery of therapeutics for treating neurological complications of Central Nervous System SARS-CoV-2 infection”. In their project, the researchers will investigate therapeutics for treating neurological complications of the central nervous system after or during a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
