Portrait of Rozemarijn Van der Veen

Rozemarijn Van Der Veen

Rozemarijn grew up in the Netherlands and studied Molecular Life Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen. In her Master’s internships (at the Physiology department of Radboudumc, and at the Dohlman & Elston labs at UNC) she learned to use fluorescence microscopy, structural biology and mathematical modeling to investigate fundamental aspects of protein function. Now she is combining these methods, as well as the supervision by Dr. Martin Lehmann and Prof. Volker Haucke, to investigate the architecture and function of proteins found in tight junctions; cell-cell connections that strictly regulate paracellular transport.
